Man arrested after sister’s animals turn up dead

Upon arriving on the scene, investigators discovered a mound of soft dirt, with animal remains buried at the bottom of the fresh hole. Atlow, a convicted felon, admitted that he was unlawfully in possession of a firearm, and was taken to the Walton County jail. While in jail, he allegedly admitted to a fellow inmate that he shot the animals and buried them.

Now Atlow faces charges of animal cruelty (a third-degree felony) and one count of animal abuse (a second-degree felony).
